Blue flowers

Well, no babies yet. I'm considered full term for twins on Sunday but I'm really hoping I can make it to February. That's only a week-ish away, I think I can make it! Granted, I'm really getting uncomfortable and I'm carrying babies that are a little over 5 pounds each! That's a lot of baby! My ankles definitely feel it.

Onto nails. It has been awhile and my nails were getting so long. I had to cut them anyways, so I decided to do some simple flowers. I chose blue for the flowers just because it's different than my usual pink.

You can't really tell, but the base coat is actually a very sheer, minty green color. I used Sally Hanson-Sea. If I did more than one thin coat, you could be able to tell, but I didn't want to make it too green. I might try a more green base with blue flowers another time. My pink is running out, so I had to come up with another base that wasn't just clear, or plain white. So the flowers are in Sally Hanson-Rain Check, white, Sally Hanson-White On and the leaves are Sinful Colors-Beau Khaki. After trying to remember what names are of colors, I realized that I use a lot of Sally Hanson! Ok, that's all for now.

Baby Shower!

I've been slacking a little on nails, just because I'm so exhausted all the time! I sleep as often as I can, which isn't very much anymore. I'm so uncomfortable all the time. But I can't believe my little guys will be here soon! In 4 weeks I'll be considered full term. That is just crazy! At my last appointment about a week ago, I was 32 weeks, measuring at 41! So my belly is definitely getting bigger. Though it doesn't really look that big, I don't think anyways. A lot of people say I look pretty small for twins. Goodness..I have so much to do to prepare, but I don't think I'll ever get prepared enough.

Anyways, this Saturday is my baby shower! So exciting :) Since my nursery theme is elephants, moon and stars, that's what I tried to do on my nails. This took me forever because I had to mix colors and redo some and had to get up and walk around every so often. But I like how it turned out! There are a few flaws, but I just couldn't bring myself to redo them again. I did do some touch ups after I took pictures. My phone just wasn't focusing and I just couldn't stand there forever so I just went with the ones I took before touching up.

Aren't they cute!! They really did take forever though. I can't remember all the colors I used, but most of them are Sally Hanson colors. Pink - Spun Sugar, White - White on, Yellow-can't remember, but it's mixed with the white to tone it down a little. Same with the blue. It's mixed with the white also. The gray is Sinful colors and the darker outlining is with ELF. I completely for got to look at color names, but I know I've used them before, so the names are on this blog somewhere. :/ I can update this later if I get some time.

Winter Nails #2

Well, I didn't get as many nail art ideas as I wanted to do... I just get too tired and exhausted anymore. I had some time last night and I made myself do my nails just because I had to have something for Christmas! Hopefully they last that long... Since I didn't get to all the ones I wanted to do, I just kind of combined all of my ideas into one. The candy cane striping didn't turn out exactly as I had wanted... My brushes just aren't that good. I'll need some new ones. But the middle finger turned out the best for the striping! At least I got 1 out of 5! :)

The thumb is just little snowflakes. Then there is a Santa hat, holly, a snowman and a Santa belt. I had wanted to do some art with all holly berries and a winter scene with the snowman and trees. Oh well, another time.

So I started with my new favorite base, the Sally Hanson Triple Shine-Great White. The candy tips are Sally Hanson-White On and ELF-Red-y-or not. I used the same red for all of the red, same with the white. Those are the major ones anyways. I forgot to look and see what the blue for the scarf was. Well that's all for now. I doubt I'll get any more art in until after Christmas so Merry Christmas!!

Winter Nails - Number 1

Well, it's that time. Time for a ton of winter/Christmas themed nail posts! I need to make a list of the ones I want to do. It helps with the motivation. Being 7 months pregnant makes doing nails difficult. I can only sit for so long before I just start to hurt. So here is this weeks nail art!

As I said about not being able to sit for too long... That's what happened when I got to the snowflakes on the pinky nail, so just ignore that one. :)

Sorry about the terrible lighting on this last picture... The base is Sally Hanson Triple Shine - Great White, my new favorite polish! I sponged Sally Hanson - White On onto the tips, even thought you can't see it very well, then I added Sinful Colors - Ice Dream to the tips. It was the first time using the Ice Dream. It's actually really pretty. I usually don't use a lot of glitter or blue colors, but this one I really liked. It has the big blue glitters and the rest is tiny silver glitter. It is very glittery! I did the snowflakes with a white nail art pen. It has a very fine brush which I need to find. None of my brushes are that fine. So anyways, I like how these turned out for the most part. They definitely look wintery.

Sally Hanson Triple Shine swatch

Normally I don't wear just plain polish. I always add something, but when I saw this new Sally Hanson polish, I just fell in love with it. I seriously couldn't wait to put it on and try it out! I got the Triple Shine-Great White. I loved how it looks so shimmery, like snow! Oh, ignore the bad cuticles... I have a bad habit of biting around my nails and not moisturizing enough... especially now that's it's winter time...

It is a pretty sheer polish... This is actually only 2 kind of thick coats. I've seen where some people need 3 or 4. I could have used 3 probably, especially on that pinky nail, oops. But I just love this! So there is probably the one and only plain nail polish post I'll ever do! :) Guess, I can't really say that, but still.

Camo!

Hi! It was so nice to have a three day weekend! I need those more often... actually being over 6 months pregnant, I really should start cutting back my hours a little. With each passing week, I get more and more achy. My hips hurt the most, same with my lower back... Oh well, it's all worth it!

So it's hunting season and I have been wanting to go out for an easy hunt, but things just haven't worked out for me yet. I'm hoping this weekend I'll get a chance to go out and hopefully get my deer quickly! :) Ha, wishful thinking, but ya never know. So in honor of hunting season, I had to do camo nails.

I started off with a clear coat for my base, Sally Hanson-Flawless. I sponged some gold next (elf-Blushing Beauty) then randomly added dots of other colors. The green is Sinful Colors-Beau Khaki, black is Wet N Wild-Black Cream and I added extra blobs of the gold color to bring it out more. So there you have it, cute, simple camo!

More one stroke flowers

This weekend was pretty relaxing for me. We picked up some car seats for the twinsies Saturday morning and I spent the afternoon doing nothing! It was so nice. I had time to sit and do my nails and I decided that since it had been so long since I tried one stroke flowers, I would try again. Only one really turned out like what the pictures on the internet show, but that's ok. The rest turned out alright. I needed a smaller angled brush and I tried using a smaller straight brush, but neither worked that well. Guess I'll have to try to look up more nail art brushes one of these days!

The picture above is the one that looked more like how I wanted it to, and for some reason I was able to do it with my left hand!! Odd... but it's what I was trying for.

I was trying for the look like the one that actually turned out, but for some reason, I just couldn't get it to work right. Like I said, it could have just been that I needed a better, smaller brush. I would rinse it off in nail polish remover after almost every flower. I'm sure that is the wrong thing to do because the brush would get really stiff and would just smear colors instead of painting them on nicely. Oh well, maybe the next time I try they will look better. Oh I used Sally Hanson- Champagne Toast as the base (two coats) and the flowers were done in elf- Red-y or Not and Sally Hanson - White On. I can't remember what the leaves are... Sinful Colors - something...
