Silver/Gray with flowers

Having a day off is so great! I still have a few household chores to do and babies to play with, but I also get some time to do my nails! :)

I'd seen a post once with gray and pink flowers. I can't remember what it was or where I saw it, but the idea has stuck with me since so this is what I came up with.

The last one is a little blurry... I think the topcoat was too shiny because it just wouldn't focus that well.

I'm WAY out of practice on doing roses. The pointer finger one is the best, but I just couldn't get it down for the rest of them. The base is Sinful Colors - Tantalize. It's has a slight shimmer and is pretty sheer with one coat, but I didn't want it too gray, so I just left it.The roses have a base of Sally Hanson - Sheer Ecstasy, then Sinful Colors - Captain's Delight and the white is Sally Hanson - White On. The darker gray on the little stems is elf - Misty Haze. I topped it with Sally Hanson - Instant Dry top coat. It works pretty well actually. It's very very shiny, almost too shiny, but I like it well enough.

Marble nails

I've been wanting to try this for awhile. Apparently you can drop some polish in water, like with a water marble, and you can spray either hair spray or hand sanitizer spray and it separates the polish. I couldn't get it to work at all, so I ended up just using the saran wrap blotting method. It seemed to work best for me.

On the ring finger I tried the spray method with the dark gray polish and it sort of worked... I was wanting more of the lines like marble has, but I could only really get it to work once. Maybe I need different spray?? I'll have to try again another time. Oh and terrible clean up on this one.. oops!

I'm Back!

Things with two new babies have been pretty hectic, especially working full time on top of that. My little boys are almost 8 months old now and they have been such amazing little guys. I was lucky enough that they pretty much slept through the night since day one! It is awesome watching them grow, play and laugh with each other.

I'm slowly getting more time for myself, so I picked up a couple new polishes the other day just for fun and was inspired to do nails again!

I just kept it really simple and easy. I used my usual base (which after almost a year of no use, it sadly is thick) Sally Hanson - Sugar Coat. The glitter is the new one I bought, Rimmel - Glitter Bomb top coat. You can't tell, but the big glitters are a pretty rose pink. Hopefully, I get to do nails more often. I have some Halloween ideas I'd like to try.
